We believe everyone deserves the chance to create.
For some people, a ceramics class is a fun night out. For others, it can be a place to build confidence, discover a new passion, connect with community, or simply have a space that feels like their own. But the cost of a class or membership can be a barrier—and we don’t believe finances should determine who gets to experience the joy of working with clay.
That’s why scholarships are such an important part of our mission at Scenic City Clay Arts. Through financial assistance for classes and memberships, we’re able to open the studio doors a little wider and welcome more people into our creative community.
Every scholarship represents an opportunity: a first class, a new skill, a creative outlet, a sense of belonging, or maybe even the beginning of a lifelong love of clay. By making ceramics more accessible, we’re not just helping people make pottery—we’re helping create a more connected, creative, and inclusive Chattanooga.
Class and Membership scholarships are available to anyone based on financial need.
Complete the application and share your story including a description of your financial need as well as your interest in ceramics. You are encouraged to include as much detail as possible. Studio staff will be in touch to let you know the status within 5-7 business days. Please include which class or workshop you are hoping to attend with the specific class dates, if applicable.
Special note for membership scholarships: You must be on the waitlist for membership and contacted about an available spot before we will consider a membership scholarship application. Learn more about memberships here. Scholarships will only be offered to those pursuing the Full-Access Membership option.
