Membership is an annual fee that allows access to the studio, with the additional purchase of studio sessions.
We have studio memberships available for anyone wanting to come practice and improve their ceramics skills. Memberships gains you access to our studio space and ceramics supplies, equipment, 20+ glazes, numerous underglazes, and kiln firings. Members are each provided with one half shelf for personal storage. Additional shelf space available for an additional fee. Becoming a member also gives you a 20% discount for any classes that you sign up for (excluding workshops). Once you purchase a membership, you are asked to pay a studio session fee for each time you visit. This fee covers studio supplies and is in place of kiln firing fees.
Members also have exclusive access to our Open Instruction Nights that occur the first Monday of each month providing direct access to the expertise of our SCCA Instructors.

We want to celebrate our seniors (65+), students (with valid student ID), and veterans so we offer a discounted membership and discounted session fees.
Student/Senior (65+)/Veteran membership $50/annually
Student/Senior (65+)/Veteran studio session fee $10/session
Scenic City Clay Arts Studio equipment includes: 12 wheels, 2 handbuilding tables areas, 20+ glazes, numerous underglazes, handbuilding and wheel supplies (molds, trimmers, wires, bats, etc.). We operate 2 electric kilns (fired to cone 06). We require that you do not bring any outside clays or glazes into the studio. We offer for sale a variety of Highwater clay bodies including Buncombe White, Brownstone, Speckled Brownstone, and Earthenware Red. Each 25 lb. bag of clay costs $30 and includes all firing fees.
If you bring in an excess amount of work to be fired (more than 1/2 shelf) at one time, you may be subject to additional firing fees of $15 per half shelf of work.
