Glaze Fire (glazes included): $10
Discount available for full Kiln Rental
Discounted rates apply only if all criteria below are met.
Eligibility Criteria
You are a current HCDE Visual Arts teacher.
The work submitted was created by your visual arts students during class. We do not fire personal work created by teachers.
You have 30 pieces or fewer, and they are not excessively large.
Your deadline for return of fired work is at least 4–6 weeks away.
Materials & Glazing Requirements
All pieces must use SCCA-approved Cone 6 clays and glazes.
Clay is available for purchase at the studio for $30 per 25 lb bag, or for $15 for recycled clay.
Glazing is the responsibility of the teacher and may be done during your second visit, prior to the glaze firing. SCCA will not glaze your classwork for you. Any glaze or firing issues caused by student work may result in a damage fee.
Scheduling & Firing Timeline
Work will typically be fired within 4–6 weeks. Rush fees may apply if needed sooner.
Fired work will be held for 2 weeks only after the firing cycle is complete. Items left beyond this period will be considered a donation to the studio.
All drop-offs must be pre-scheduled by emailing: studio@sceniccityclayarts.org. During busy seasons, we may not be able to accommodate your firing request.
If your work falls outside of the criteria listed above, or you are NOT a Hamilton County Visual Arts Educator, please view our public firing options here.
