Class Cancellation Policy

Need to reschedule or cancel? We understand life happens, so we try to be as flexible as possible with our policy, while making sure we're being fair to our staff and studio.

Any class cancellation or rescheduling requests must be made by contacting Scenic City Clay Arts at studio@sceniccityclayarts.org or 423-883-1758. Participants are responsible for ensuring that SCCA receives their cancellation or reschedule request.

Participants cancelling 24 hours or more prior to the start date of their class will have the option of rescheduling the class, receiving a class credit in the amount of the cancelled class, or receiving a full monetary refund. Applicable non-refundable online transaction fees shall apply to all refunds of a class.

Participants cancelling less than 24 hours prior to the start date of their class, or any no-shows, will not receive a monetary refund, rescheduling option, or class credit option and will be liable for the entire class cost.

You may be subject to a rescheduling fee if you have to reschedule your class or workshop registration more than once.

Please note that you must sign-up for all classes in advance - we do not accept walk-ins for classes due to space limitations.

SCCA reserves the right to cancel a class at any time. SCCA must have at least 3 students to make a class. If 3 students are not enrolled, we will inform you at least two days before the start date. You may choose to receive a refund or studio credit. If SCCA has to cancel a class that is in-process, students will be refunded in full or offered another class option or studio credit if preferred.

Guest Policy

You are welcome to have friend or family visitors in our studio space to sit with you while you work or to see the studio! Please keep in mind that non-members and non-students are not permitted to work in the studio space - meaning, they cannot use any of our equipment and cannot participate in any clay-making activities in our space. Instead, encourage your friends and family members to become a studio member or to join one of our many wheelthrowing or handbuilding classes. If you have any questions about this guest policy, please see a staff member.

At the discretion and approval of the Studio Manager, a guest may be in the space and active in studio work under direct supervision and responsibility of a current SCCA member. The guest fee is $15 and the guest will only be permitted to work in the space one time only. All guests must be pre-approved by the Studio Manager. If more than one visit is desired, then a membership will need to be purchased for the individual. Please note that non-members cannot make use of this special guest policy. Non-members and students are not permitted to bring guests to work with them in the studio space, but guests may observe.
