Chattanooga's Most Creative Night Out
September 29, 2026 | 6-8 PM
Mac Avenue Event Space | 1304 McCallie Ave
War of the Wheels is Scenic City Clay Arts' biggest fundraiser of the year, celebrating our 10th anniversary as a nonprofit with a one-of-a-kind pottery throwdown. Watch some of Chattanooga's best ceramic artists face off in fast-paced challenges that test their creativity, skill, and ability to perform under pressure.
But you're not just a spectator—you'll help shape the competition.
Throughout the night, use your donations to BOOST your favorite potter or BUST their competition, adding unexpected twists that could change who takes home the trophy.
Enjoy incredible pottery, delicious food and drinks, friendly rivalries, and plenty of laughs—all while supporting Scenic City Clay Arts' mission to make ceramics accessible to our larger Chattanooga community. Every ticket helps fund affordable classes, scholarships, youth programs, community outreach, and free and low-cost opportunities to experience clay throughout Chattanooga.
Together, we're building a stronger, more creative community—one piece of pottery at a time.

FAQs
I’m interested in sponsoring the event. Can I learn more?
1
Absolutely! We have tons of different sponsorship opportunities. View our sponsorship options, and contact SCCA Associate Director, Emily Lloyd, at emily@sceniccityclayarts.org to get started.
What should I expect at the event?
2
FUN! But really – expect some delicious food and drinks, watching a unique pottery throwdown competition between a few of our most talented potters in the SCCA community, and plenty of chances to learn about SCCA and give back to the arts community! You’ll even get to sway the competition with your donations - either supporting the potter of your choice, or SABOTAGING someone!
What exactly is a pottery throwdown?
3
Think Top Chef… but with clay and definitely no tasting of the end result. Potters will go head-to-head in a series of wheelthrowing challenges designed to showcase the artist’s skill, level-headedness, and quick-thinking. In our throwdown, we’ll have 3 rounds of fast-paced challenges - 1 round for our SCCA instructors, 1 round for our SCCA members, and one final round to determine our THROWDOWN CHAMPION! It’s super fun and exciting to watch – we can’t wait for y’all to see for yourselves.
Can I participate in the throwdown?
4
Not this year :( But if you do want to try out the potter’s wheel for yourself, purchase one of our VIP tickets for your own chance to throw your own clay with the help of one of our SCCA staffers.
What’s the parking situation at the venue?
5
Located at 1304 McCallie Avenue in Chattanooga, the Mac Avenue Event Space has free lot parking with ~100 spaces. There is also nearby street parking if the lot is full.
I can’t attend the event anymore. Can I get a refund?

We’re sorry you can’t make it! All event tickets are non-refundable. However, you can transfer your ticket to someone who can attend. Transfer requests will be accepted until September 24, 2026. Otherwise, your ticket purchase will be used as donation to SCCA (thank you!)
