Scenic City Clay Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people with the art of clay.

Founded in 2016, SCCA was born from a simple but powerful idea: Chattanooga needed a place where anyone—from complete beginners to professional ceramic artists—could come together to learn, create, and connect through clay arts.

Our work centers on three pillars: access, education, and outreach. We believe clay should be available to everyone, regardless of background, skill level, or socioeconomic status. That’s why we offer pottery classes for youth and adults, provide affordable memberships for studio access, and bring ceramics directly into the community through outreach programs that reach schools, local nonprofits, and underserved populations.

At its heart, SCCA’s mission is simple: to put clay into the hands of anyone who wants to experience it. Whether it’s a child shaping their very first pinch pot, a college student exploring a new passion, or a professional artist honing their craft, SCCA is here to nurture creativity, foster connection, and build a stronger arts community in Chattanooga and beyond.
