Scenic City Clay Arts
reimagined
Creating a forever home for clay in Chattanooga
Scenic City Clay Arts is bursting at the seams. With a 300+ person waitlist and sold-out classes, too many people are being turned away from the healing, creative power of clay.
Now, we have the opportunity to purchase a 15,000 sq. ft. downtown home that will triple our space, expand our programs, and secure the future of ceramics in Chattanooga. With your support, this vision becomes reality.
Give today to support SCCA’s forever home!
Scenic City Clay Arts is at maximum capacity. Without more room, we cannot meet the demand for creativity, healing, and connection. We currently face:
300+ people on a waitlist for membership (12–18 months)
Classes at capacity week after week.
Only one classroom, limiting outreach, workshops, and school programs.
No space left for kilns, clay, or community growth.
Our Challenge
We’re reimagining Scenic City Clay Arts in a 15,000 sq. ft. facility designed for growth, accessibility, and sustainability.
This new home will:
Triple our studio size for members.
Provide 3 classrooms for MORE wheel classes, MORE handbuilding classes, and MORE outreach programs for all ages.
Expand equipment and workspaces.
Create gallery and retail space for our artists.
Host visiting artists, field trips, and team-building workshops.
Offer outdoor space for markets and specialty kiln firings.
Our Solution
Why this space?
We’ve found the perfect property: a former dog boarding facility that’s nearly move-in ready.
Specialty HVAC, floor drains, and 3-phase power already in place.
Cosmetic updates only — funds go directly to impact, operations, moving expenses, and equipment.
Ample parking + downtown visibility, right off I-24.
Outdoor space for community events and firings.
Rental income potential for long-term sustainability.
This site checks every box for our future home.
