Tuesdays: November 5 - December 10
1-4 p.m.
6 classes
$315 per person
$252 for members (must sign up in-studio to get discount)
Minimum: 4 students; Maximum: 10 students

In this class, we will explore surface treatments that can be played onto ceramic forms before they are glazed - when they are leather hard, bone dry, or bisque-fired. These techniques will be of interest to wheel-throwers and hand-builders alike, as they search for ways to enrich their forms' surfaces.

Skin Deep is an advanced level class. Students must have taken at least two handbuilding or wheel throwing classes, or have the equivalent experience. This class is not for beginners.

What’s included:
- Six 3-hour instruction sessions
- One bag of clay ($30 value)
- Six studio sessions for practice on your own time ($90 value)
- Colored slips and underglazes
- Access to all studio supplies, materials and tools
*We encourage students to bring brushes to supplement those available in the studio.

SCCA must have at least 4 students to make the Skin Deep class. If 4 students are not enrolled, we will inform you at least two days before the start date. You may choose to receive a refund or studio credit. You can read more about our class cancellation policy HERE.

If you have to miss a class, we will give you a free session so you can practice and make up for it!

Scenic City Clay Arts offers scholarships for classes and workshops throughout the year. Learn more and apply on our Scholarship page.
