In this course, you will continue to build upon your vocabulary of construction techniques and design strategies, as they relate to sculptural and/or functional ceramic form with handbuilt pottery. You will work with your instructor designing your own concepts, and learning how to best execute them. You are required to have some basic handbuilding experience before enrolling in this class.

Handbuilding 2 is an intermediate-level class. We require that students have taken Handbuilding 1, or have an equivalent level of prior handbuilding experience before enrolling in Handbuilding 2. You must be comfortable with basic handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling, and using slabs of clay to create forms.

- Eight 3-hour instructional sessions
- One bag of clay ($30 value)
- Eight studio sessions to use on your own time ($120 Dollar value)
- Access to all studio supplies, materials and tools

SCCA must have at least 3 students to make a class. If 3 students are not enrolled, we will inform you at least two days before the start date. You may choose to receive a refund or studio credit. You can read more about our class cancelation policy HERE.

If you have to miss a class, we will give you a free session so you can practice and make up for it!
