In this class, students will extend on existing hand-building skills in order to create larger coil-built forms appropriate for use in outdoor settings.
Ideas for projects include: figure, lantern, bird bath, seat, or small table.
Topics covered include: preparing clay for larger work; building with and joining sections; drying and firing larger forms; installation considerations.
*Previous hand-building experience required for this class.
Class registration includes:
6 instruction sessions
6 free open studio sessions ($90 value)
2 bags of clay ($60 value)
Additional grog for your clay
Access to all materials and supplies needed for projects in the studio
Firing of up to two garden structures (depending on overall size)
Cost: $360 ($288 for members)
Minimum: 4 students; Maximum: 6 students
Additional clay can be purchased in studio. $30/25-pound bag or $10/25-pound bag of mixed, recycled clay
